At Kai Concepts/KAI Institute, I participate regularly in on-water engineering tests of kite and hydrofoil technology. Part of my role is photographing and filming these tests, from boat, land, and helicopter.

For eight years, I wrote, edited, and laid out monthly reports to share Kai’s technical progress with funders. At the end of each year, I packaged the year’s reports as a printed book.

I created graphics, wrote, and designed a user manual for an early Jetfoiler prototype at Kai Concepts, which we printed to give to funders and preliminary test users.

I created patent drawings and wrote a full first draft of a first provisional patent application for the Jetfoiler, which has since been accepted.

For five years I contributed to budget planning and funding pitches at Kai Concepts, which included drafting a budget and a business plan for an upcoming funding cycle and preparing visual materials, like timelines and cost tables laid out with photos and explanations, to demonstrate that plan.

For the Foiling Week 2016 conference, held in Newport, RI, I made a 15-minute film to accompany our president’s presentation to industry partners. I wrote the script and compiled all of the footage in the video, which summarized our project’s progress and major technological breakthroughs over 20 years.

I regularly made short web videos to describe hydrofoil projects, including these featuring the l’Hydroptere and the K2 Kiteboat.
